• Diet & Nutritional Counseling

  • Chinese medicine has long understood that food is truly our medicine. Food has inherent energetic and therapeutic qualities. In line with treating the whole person, Chinese nutrition addresses the age and constitution of a person and prescribes the food that will provide support and balance. Method of food preparation and time of season play an integral role in nutritional therapy as well. For instance, eating with the seasons is highly recommended as nature grows the foods that our bodies require just at the right time. In summer, fruits like sweet and juicy melons and peaches grow. During these hot summer months, our bodies have an increased need for water-containing (juicy) foods to keep us well hydrated.

Nutritional counseling is an integral part of Chinese medicine that will always be addressed during the course of treatment. Recommendations on the best foods to eat and avoid will be discussed.
